First time at the Dolphin fish bar and I must say everything was great.
Staff were polite and the service was great. Did not have to wait to long for my order but I think that was due to the shop not being to busy due to the bad weather.
We ordered cod, chip's and peas and I must say it was a good portion. Regular cod was a good size and enough chips and the mushy peas were well, mushy peas.
Will definitely use the Dolphin again on our next visit later in the month.- Service

An absolute bonus was The Dolphin being a dog friendly establishment. Our visit set us all up for our walk back along the beach to our rental. Thank you.- Food

Lovely clean place with friendly and pleasant staff. Good choice of food on the menu and reasonably priced. We had the cod and chips which arrived freshly cooked and piping hot. We are in and enjoyed our food and the surroundings.

I've never had bad Fish and Chips from here. They take cards, the food is fresh and I can't find anything wrong. A chippy always defines the area and the day out and these are Sutton On Sea ⛵.

Last minute decision for a day out on Sunday 18/05, travelling from Nottinghamshire. Lunch at the Dolphin (the only 'proper' chippy open on a Sunday!). Served by a polite young man, cod & chips twice, two coffees - less than £20.00. Tables to sit at (in or out), very clean and I believe recently redecorated. What's not to like! Well done Dolphin, keep up the good work. Have a good Summer.

The wife and myself called here yesterday for fish and chips and ate inside. Lovely clean place, good service, the guys serving were helpful, and the food was lovely, proper 'at the coast' fish and chips. Chips were just right and the fish was great. Nice crisp batter and two huge fresh and hot fish. Will definately call again. Spot on at £16 for two offer! Yum yum!

I was having a difficult day having visited where I scattered my mum's ashes, it was just me and my pup and I decided to treat us to fish and chips by the sea to cheer us up. Firstly, my pup had a near mental breakdown when I tried to leave her outside the shop (separation anxiety) and to my surprise, the staff seeing i was struggling welcomed us both inside and were very understanding. Secondly, the signal around the coast is not great for me and I only had my phone wallet to hand. The card machine was taking forever to process my payment (not sure if that was because of my signal or theirs - irrelevant really). The staff told me simply to take my food and return later to check if payment had cleared. Obviously I was taken back as this was incredibly trusting, the human kindness and patience and understanding really was amazing... Or at least from where I come from. As I wasn't sure if the problem was going to be my signal, I offered my telephone number to ensure they balanced the tills by close of play. When the gentleman called later this evening, there was no hassle whatsoever, he was polite, compassionate and understanding and took payment over the phone. I cannot express how much he made what was a challenging day, a little softer, a little kinder, and the food was amazing too. Thank you for the lovely words Cara, we were having issues with the internet (linked to our card pay terminals) and had to have Openreach out that day which left us in a difficult position for a while. We’re happy you were understanding and we’re glad we managed to brighten up your day a little!

Best light, crispy batter that I’ve had on fish ANYWHERE. Really friendly staff. We ate inside as it was cold and windy. Good price too.

We’re really pleased you both enjoyed your Fish & Chips yesterday :) We do get a mixed bag of reviews however we find most of customers, like yourselves, make nice comments over the counter to us which means the world to us. Google and TripAdvisor seems to have become a place for certain people to be spiteful.
Lovely fish n chips! The place (plaice 😁) itself doesn't do the food any favours and the surroundings are not very welcoming, but all the food we ordered was one of the best around and we have chipshop take away at least once a week, so we could all tell the difference. A large menu with lots of options and extras, and this is our 3rd order from them.

Hi Beverley, thankyou for your lovely review. We apologise for the untidiness of the venue as we are in the middle of a project. The whole building is being refurbished - hence lots of things to sell. When the project is finished (approximately March) I can promise you the surroundings will as amazing as the food 😄
